There Will Be No Intermission

I was commissioned to photograph and document the songwriter Amanda Palmer on her UK and European tour of There Will Be No Intermission, co-producing four long-form articles with the Australian writer Jack Nicholls. The show was part concert, part confession: a three-hour communion of music, grief, politics, and humour. Palmer confronted abortion, loss, and motherhood with unflinching honesty, offering audiences catharsis and connection. Travelling across Europe by train, plane, and tour bus, the show documented how she transformed experience – and the work of processing it – into art, revealing the courage and necessity of doing so. It culminated at London’s Union Chapel in December 2019.
