Apply for a Bursary

  • The bursary exists to support artists for whom the cost of a session would otherwise be out of reach. It has been active since June 2024, when I began directing half of all Patreon membership income directly into it. One-off contributions from supporters are added to it too. This is not a fundraising page; the fund is already in use and continues to grow.

The bursary covers up to 50% of the session fee, from a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of four hours per applicant per year. It is applied at discretion, on enquiry. For full session fees, see the mentoring page.

  • The bursary is for artists whose total annual income falls below the living wage, currently £27,000. It is not available in combination with institutional funding.

  • There is no fee to apply. To request an application, click the button above. You will receive a response within four weeks. If you need help completing your application, contact me directly.

  • To support curriculum development and contribute to the fund monthly, visit patreon.com/gmotophotos. Half of all Patreon income goes directly to the bursary. The other half covers the administration and development of new work.

To contribute directly to the fund, as a one-off or on a monthly basis, use the form below.

Contributing to the Bursary

The fund is active and currently in use. You can contribute in two ways.

Via Patreon

Patreon membership supports the curriculum directly and contributes to the fund as a matter of course. Half of all membership income goes to the bursary; the other half covers the development of new work and curricula. Membership also includes access to exclusive content and benefits. Visit patreon.com/gmotophotos to find out more.
