An intimate reflection on falling in love; what we see in others, and find in ourselves.

Elūl is a hand-bound photobook about love, loss, and the quiet work of returning to yourself. Through photographs and prose, it traces the emotional landscape of a relationship and the reckoning that followed. The camera became a window, a shield, and a bridge between two people struggling to stay connected. Years later, the photographs became a mirror – reflecting what had been seen, but not understood.

Taking its name from the Hebrew calendar month devoted to reflection, Elūl offers an intimate portrait of self-deception, reflection, and transformation.

The work sparks dialogue about how we love, learn and hurt – and what becomes possible when we take responsibility for our feelings and needs. It invites the viewer to consider all the intricate and imperfect ways relationships wound and heal us.

A first edition of 100 signed photobooks across regular and special editions is printed on archival Munken Lynx paper with a copper-foiled Colorplan cover and singer-sewn binding, produced by Taylor Brothers, Bristol.

Special Edition – Signed Book and Signed A5 Print
Regular Edition – Signed Book Only

Elūl officially launched at Photo London, 15–18 May 2025

Elūl was crafted with care at every stage. Designed by Wayne Ford, former art director of The Observer magazine, whose typographic sensibility shaped every detail. The text was edited by Eleanor O’Kane, whose editorial clarity and depth, drawn from her work at the University of Oxford and the University of Edinburgh, helped bring the writing to its final form. Printed by Taylor Brothers, a Bristol-based press founded in 1889 and known for its precision and dedication to the craft.

Everything — from the uncoated Munken Lynx paper to the copper-foiled Colorplan cover — was chosen to serve the work, not distract from it.

A true collector’s object, Elūl is singer-sewn, foil-stamped, and printed in a limited first edition of 100 copies across regular and special editions. It includes 48 pages of photographs with personal captions, an introduction, and an afterword. Each copy is signed by the artist.
