Apply for an Access Grant
-
Access Grants exist to support artists, and others working across the wider art and photography ecosystem, including curators, educators, and those working within institutions, for whom the cost of further education would otherwise be out of reach. The focus is on artists, but eligibility is not limited to them.
Access grants can be applied towards workshops, hourly tuition, or project-based work. It has been active since June 2024, when I began putting half of all my Patreon membership income into a ring-fenced fund. One-off contributions from supporters are added to it too. The fund is already in use and continues to grow.
An access grant can cover up to 100% of fees for workshops, hourly tuition, or project-based work. Each application is assessed individually; see Application Process below for how that works. To read more about what I offer, see Work With Me.

The Access Grant is prioritised for artists whose total annual income falls below £47,000, the London Minimum Income Standard for a decent standard of living, as established by Trust for London. It is also accessible to others working across the wider art and photography ecosystem, including curators, educators, and those working within institutions, who face comparable financial constraints. It is not available in combination with institutional funding. Applicants may receive one Access Grant in any rolling 12-month period.

The Access Grant can be applied towards workshops, hourly tuition, or project-based work. There is no fee to apply, and you may apply for full or partial assistance.
Step 1. We begin with a conversation. Make an inquiry to discuss your practice and goals. We'll work out a plan of action and a fee.
Step 2. Fill out the short application, using the figure we've agreed.
The entire process typically takes up to two weeks, depending on application volume. You may apply as many times as you like, but you can only receive one Access Grant in any rolling 12-month period. -
