Hackney/Walthamstow Marshes

from 220.00

Before I discovered the genius of swimming I was a runner. Every morning more or less, I'd leave my house and run the circuit behind it which spans the Hackney and Walthamstow marshes.  On this November morning it was around 6am. I was getting a glass of water at my kitchen sink when I noticed the dark purple sky. I grabbed my camera and a couple of rolls of film and headed out for my morning jog. Headed north along the canal I came to this scene about 15 minutes into my run. I balanced my Mamiya 7II on the fencepost and snapped off two frames at 1/15th of a second. If you know what a Mamiya 7II is you know how ridiculous it is to jog with one. It's about the size and weight of a small toaster. I thought of the entire scenario as 'cross training' for a greater purpose.
