The Gates were a group of gates comprising a site-specific work of art by Bulgarian artist Christo Yavacheff and French artist Jeanne-Claude, known jointly as Christo and Jeanne-Claude. The artists installed 7,503 vinyl "gates" along 23 miles (37 km) of pathways in Central Park in New York City. From each gate hung a panel of deep saffron-colored nylon fabric. The exhibit ran from February 12, 2005 through February 27, 2005.
Swans inhabit the Lea Valley area. This image was made at dawn in the Walthamstow Marsh area.
This image was awarded the 2006 AOP Open Judge's Choice award. These portraits were made in Sennen Cove, Cornwall as each surfer came out of the freezing cold March Winter water. I carried a portable pack and a light down to the beach and set-up just at the top of the ramp. As the surfers came out of the water, exhausted and exhilarated from their day’s efforts I asked if they would pose for me. Most of them were happy to. They were still out of breath and dripping wet, eyes and skin red from the cold, but smiling all the while and staring intently at me.
